Nearly uniformly noncreasy Banach spaces (Q555844): Difference between revisions

The authors introduce and study the class of nearly uniformly noncreasy Banach spaces. They have a property which can be seen as a combination of nearly uniform convexity and nearly uniform smoothness. In their main result, they prove that they have the fixed point property for nonexpansive mappings of weakly compact convex sets, and also prove a new result concerning the stability of this property with respect to the Banach--Mazur distance.
