Let \(G\) be an abelian group and \(X\) a compactum with \(G\)-cohomological dimension \linebreak \(\dim _{G}\) \(X\leq n,\) \(n\) \(\geq 2.\) This paper studies the problem of finding a compactum \(Z\) of dimension \(\leq n\) and a \(G\)-acyclic resolution \(r:Z\rightarrow X.\) A \(G\)-acyclic resolution is a map with all fibers being acyclic for \(G.\) It was previously known that there was a \(Z\) of dimension \(\leq n+1\) for which this could be done.
