The author shows that the two families of categories are equivalent as braided tensor categories: 1) quotients of H. Andersen's tilting module categories for quantum groups of type B at odd roots of unity, and 2) the categories of type BC constructed from idempotents in BMW-algebras. Using results of Beliakova-Blanchet, he also proves the equivalence of the previously mentioned categories with the quantum group categories of type C at odd roots of unity. In addition it is shown, that all these categories are never unitary.
