Quantum groups and ribbon \(G\)-categories (Q1861501)

The paper is devoted to the construction of ribbon \(G\)-categories. The basic tool is the representation theory of a quantum group at a root of unity, with \(G\) being the center of the underlying simply-connected Lie group. The resulting \(G\)-categories give rise to numerical invariants of pairs (a closed oriented 3-manifold \(M\), an element of \(H^1 (M;G)\)) and to 3-dimensional Homotopy Quantum Field Theories introduced by Turaev earlier.
