Spacetimes with two commuting spacelike Killing vector fields are considered. It is assumed that Einstein's field equation holds with a positive cosmological constant and with an energy-momentum tensor that satisfies the dominant energy condition. It is the purpose of the paper to demonstrate that then the spacetime contains neither outer nor degenerate apparent horizons.
