    Suppose that \(E_ 0:Y^ 2=4X^ 3-g_ 2X-g_ 3\) is an elliptic curve over a field K, \(\bar K\) is the algebraic closure of K and t is a transcendental over K. Let E be the elliptic curve \((4t^ 3-g_ 2t-g_ 3)Y(t)^ 2=4t^ 3X(t)^ 3-g_ 2tX(t)-g_ 3,\) \(g_ 2,g_ 3\in K\), \(X(t),Y(t)\in \bar K(t).\) The main result of the paper is the proof of the group isomorphism \(E(\bar K(t))\cong End_{\bar K}(E_ 0)\oplus E_ 0[2]\) where \(E(\bar K(t))\), \(End_{\bar K}(E_ 0)\) and \(E_ 0[2]\) are the groups of \(\bar K(\)t) rational points of E, of \(\bar K\) endomorphisms of \(E_ 0\) and of the 2-torsion points of \(E_ 0\), respectively. If follows that the \({\mathbb{Z}}\)-rank of \(E(\bar K(t))\) is \(=1\) if \(E_ 0\) has no complex multiplication, \(=2\) if char K\(=0\) and \(E_ 0\) has complex multiplication \(=4\) if char K\(=p\) and \(E_ 0\) is supersingular.
