This paper presents the Delsarte-Goethals codes, DG(m,d), and their formal duals. Their constructions are essentially identical and the author shows that there is a simple link between these codes. The linear association schemes on quotient spaces of nested linear codes having some automorphism group in a general setting are studied. The results are applied to the family of Reed-Muller codes. At the end of the paper some results about this linear association scheme and their implications for possible XDG(6,3,d)-codes are given.
