Estimates of asymmetric Freud polynomials on the real line (Q753069): Difference between revisions

The author extends results for the Freud polynomials (orthonormal on the real axis with respect to the weight function \(\exp (-x^ m),\) where m is a positive even integer (cf. the paper reviewed above)) to the case of polynomials orthonormal to a nonsymmetric Freud type weight on the real axis: \(w(x)=\exp (-Q(x)),\) Q an even degree polynomial with positive leading coefficient. The proof uses an approximate differential equation satisfied by the orthonormal polynomials along with asymptotics for the coefficients in their recurrence relation. A good piece of work.
