The authors prove the boundedness of the Riesz potential operator and of its spherical analogue acting between weighted Lebesgue generalized spaces with variable exponents under less restrictive restrictive conditions on the variable exponents than those from the first part [\textit{S.~G.\ Samko} and \textit{B.~G.\ Vakulov}, ibid.\ 310, 229--246 (2005; Zbl 1079.47053)].
