By means of Jackson's \(q\)-Dougall-Dixon formula on terminating very well-posed hypergeometric series, the authors establish first the linearization lemma on the factorial fractions with well-poised parameter-pairs. Then they apply this result to prove the generalized well-posed \(_{8}\psi_{8}\)-series and \(_{10}\psi_{10}\)-series identities. More generally, they combine the linearization method with the induction principle to present a constructive proof of Milne's transformation formula from nonterminating very well-posed bilateral series to terminating multiple unilateral series. Finally, they derive an alternative double series expression for the very well-posed \(_{10}\psi_{10}\)-series, which may be considered as a generalization of a very well-posed bilateral \(_{6}\psi_{6}\)-series identity discovered by \textit{W. N. Bailey} [Q. J. Math., Oxf. Ser. 7, 105--115 (1936; Zbl 0014.16003)] and of the subsequent generalization obtained by \textit{H. S. Shukla} [Proc. Camb. Philos. Soc. 55, 262--266 (1959; Zbl 0092.29103)].
