The Deligne-Simpson problem is formulated like this: give necessary and sufficient conditions for the choice of the conjugacy classes \(C_j\subset \text{GL}(n,{\mathbb C})\) or \(c_j\subset \text{gl}(n,{\mathbb C})\) so that there exist irreducible \((p+1)\)-tuples of matrices \(M_j\in C_j\) whose product is the identity matrix or of matrices \(A_j\in c_j\) whose sum is \(0\). The matrix \(M_j\) and \(A_j\) are interpreted as monodromy operators of regular linear systems and as matrices-residua of Fuchsian ones on Riemann's sphere. Define as simple the case when the greatest common divisor of all quantities of Jordan blocks of a given size, of a given matrix \(M_j\) or \(A_j\) and with a given eigenvalue, is \(1\). The authors prove that in the simple case the subset \({\mathcal W}'\) or \({\mathcal V}'\) of the variety \({\mathcal W}:=\{ (M_1,\dots ,M_{p+1})| M_j\in C_j,M_1\cdots M_{p+1}=I\}\) or \({\mathcal V}:=\{ (A_1,\dots ,A_{p+1})| A_j\in c_j,A_1+\cdots +A_{p+1}=0\}\) consisting of all irreducible \((p+1)\)-tuples (if non-empty) is connected. The paper extends the results of \textit{V. P. Kostov} [J. Dyn. Control Syst. 11, No.~1, 125--155 (2005; Zbl 1072.15022)]. For more information about the Deligne-Simpson problem see the survey \textit{V. P. Kostov} [J. Algebra 281, 83--108 (2004; Zbl 1066.15016)].
