In this paper the authors deal with the following Dirichlet problem: \[ \left\{ \begin{aligned} S_k\left( D^2u\right) =g\left( x,u\right) \quad\text{in}\,\Omega \\ u=0\quad\text{on}\,\partial \Omega \end{aligned}\right. \] where \(\Omega \subseteq \mathbb{R}^n\) domain, \(S_k\left(D ^2u\right) \) is the \(k\)-Hessian operator i.e. \[ S_k\left(D^2u\right) =\sum\limits_{1\leq i_1<...<i_k\leq n}\lambda _{i_1}...\lambda _{i_k}, \] where \(\lambda\) are the eigenvalues of the Hessian matrix \(D^2u\) of \(u\) and \(S_k\) is the \(k\)-th elementary symmetric function. \(g\) is a positive function satisfying the growth condition \[ g\left( x,u\right) \leq f\left( x\right) +\sigma \left| u\right| ^p, \] where \(f>0\) is a smooth function \(\sigma >0\), \(0<p\leq k.\) The authors consider also the symmetrized problem \[ \left\{ \begin{aligned} S_k\left( D^2u\right) =f^{\#}+\sigma \left| v\right| ^p \quad\text{in}\,B_R \\ v=0\quad\text{in}\,\partial B_R \end{aligned}\right., \] where \(f^{\#}\) is the spherically decreasing rearrangement of \(f\) and \(B_R\) is the ball centered at the origin, having the same \(k\)-th mean radius as \( \Omega .\) The purpose of the paper is to compare the solution of these two problems. After an introduction (Section 1) and some notation and preliminaries (Section 2), the authors state their main result (Section 3) and prove a comparison result between a suitable rearrangement of the solutions to \(\left( 1\right) \) with the solution to the symmetrized problem \(\left( 2\right).\) In the last section, the authors prove a Moser-type inequality related to Hessian integrals.
