    Let \(\mathcal{H}\) denote a separable complex Hilbert space, \(n \in \mathbb{B}\), and \(1 \leq p < \infty\). The author considers spaces of the form \[ B^{(n)}_p = (B_p)^n~, \] where \(B_p\) denotes the space of bounded operators \(T\) on \(\mathcal{H}\) whose Schatten-\(p\)-norm \(\| T \|_p = (\text{tr} |X|^p)^{1/p}\) is finite. \(B^{(n)}_p\) is endowed with the norms \[ \| (X_0,\ldots,X_{n-1}) \|_{p,a;s} = \left( \sum_{j=0}^{n-1} \| a^{-1/2} X_j a^{-1/2} \|_p^s \right). \] Here, \(a\) denotes a positive invertible operator on \(\mathcal{H}\). The main result of the paper under review is an interpolation theorem, stating for all \(1 \leq p, s < \infty\), all \(t \in (0,1)\) and all positive invertible operators \(a,b\) on \(\mathcal{H}\) that \[ \left( B^{(n)}_{p,a;s}, B^{(n)}_{p,b;s} \right)_t = B^{(n)}_{p,\gamma_{a,b}(t);s}~, \] where \((X,Y)_t\) denotes the interpolation space between suitable Banach spaces \(X\),\(Y\), and \[ \gamma_{a,b}(t) = a^{1/2} (a^{-1/2} b a^{-1/2})^t a^{1/2}~. \] As an application, the author derives Clarkson type inequalities.
