    The authors are concerned with the following semilinear parabolic problem \[ \begin{cases} u_t=\Delta u+V(x) | u| ^{p-1}u &\text{in }\Omega \times (0,T), \\ u(x,t) =0 &\text{on }\partial \Omega \times (0,T), \\ u(x,0) =u_0(x) &\text{in }\Omega, \end{cases} \] where \(\Omega \subseteq \mathbb{R}^N\), \(N\geq 3\), is a bounded, convex, smooth domain, \(1<p<\frac{N+2}{N-2}\), \(u_0\in L^\infty (\Omega ) \) and the potential \(V\in C^1(\overline{\Omega }) \) satisfies \( V(x) \geq c\) for some positive constant \(c\) and all \(x\in \Omega\). One of the authors' goals is to obtain blow-up rate estimate, for general potential \(V\). Another goal of the paper is to establish the asymptotic behavior of blow-up time and blow-up set of the blow-up solution with nonnegative initial data \(u_0=M\varphi \) as \(M\to \infty \). In this case the authors rewrite the problem as \[ \begin{cases} u_t=\Delta u+V(x) u^p &\text{in }\Omega \times (0,T),\\ u(x,t) =0 &\text{on }\partial \Omega \times (0,T),\\ u(x,0) =M\varphi &\text{in }\Omega, \end{cases} \] where \(\varphi \in C(\overline{\Omega }) \) satisfies \(\varphi | _{\partial \Omega }=0,\varphi (x) >0,\forall x\in \Omega \), and the potential \(V\) satisfies the same conditions as before.
