The authors consider the complex version of the Busemann-Petty problem. In order to state the problem they use the natural mapping that identifies the \(n\)-dimensional complex space with the \(2n\)-dimensional Euclidean space. Under this mapping origin symmetric complex convex bodies correspond to those origin symmetric convex bodies in the \(2n\)-dimensional Euclidean space that are invariant with respect to any coordinate-wise two-dimensional rotation. So they formulate the complex Busemann-Petty problem in the following way: suppose \(K\) and \(L\) are origin symmetric, invariant with respect to any coordinate-wise two-dimensional rotation, convex bodies in the \(2n\)-dimensional Euclidean space such that \[ \text{Vol}_{2n-2}(K\cap H_{\xi}) \leq\text{Vol}_{2n-2}(L\cap H_{\xi}) \] for each complex hyperplane through the origin perpendicular to \(\xi\). Does it follow that \[ \text{Vol}_{2n}(K)\leq \text{Vol}_{2n}(L)? \] Using several results from the recently developed Fourier analytic approach to sections of convex bodies they prove that the answer to the complex Busemann-Petty problem is affirmative if \(n \leq 3\) and negative if \(n\geq 4\).
