The paper discusses some spectral regularization methods for solving the one-dimensional transient inverse heat conduction problem, as formulated by \textit{A. Carasso} [SIAM J. Appl. Math. 42, 558--574 (1982; Zbl 0498.35084)]. The third method is just the Fourier method of \textit{L. Eldén, F. Berntsson} and \textit{T. Reginska} [SIAM J. Sci. Comput. 21, No. 6, 2187--2205 (2000; Zbl 0959.65107)]. The regularization is achieved by cutting-off the high frequencies, as in the truncated singular value decomposition.
