A measure \(\mu\) on \(\mathbb R\) is said to be reflectionless on a compact set \(E \subset \mathbb R\) if its Stieltjes transform has purely imaginary boundary values almost everywhere on \(E\). If the set \(E\) is homogeneous, that is, there is \(\epsilon>0\) such that \(|E\cap(x-h,x+h)|>\epsilon h\) for all \(x\in E\) and \(h\in(0,\text{diam }E]\), then as was shown by \textit{M.\,Sodin} and \textit{P.\,Yuditskii} [J.~Geom.\ Anal.\ 7, No.\,3, 387--435 (1997; Zbl 1041.47502)], every measure \(\mu\) reflectionless on \(E\) is absolutely continuous on \(E\). In the present paper, the support of the singular part of the reflectionless measure \(\mu\) is studied without the assumption that \(E\) is homogeneous. In particular, the previous result of Sodin and Yuditskii is extended to the case when \(\mu\) is weekly homogeneous, that is, \(\limsup_{h\to 0+}\frac{1}{2h}|E\cap(x-h,x+h)|>0\). Sufficient conditions for identifying sets \(E\) on which a measure \(\mu\) is reflectionless are also given in terms of the logarithmic potential of \(\mu\).
