From the text: Dynamics of systems with time delay is of interest since time delay is ubiquitous in nature, science and engineering. A general mathematical model can be written as \[ \dot{\mathbf Z}(t)={\mathbf C}{\mathbf Z}(t)+{\mathbf D}{\mathbf Z}(t-\tau)+\varepsilon{\mathbf F}({\mathbf Z}(t),{\mathbf Z}(t-\tau)) \] where \({\mathbf Z}(t)\in{\mathbb{R}}^n\), \({\mathbf C}\) and \({\mathbf D}\) are \(n\times n\) real constant matrices, \({\mathbf F(.,.)}\) is a nonlinear function of its variables with \({\mathbf F}(0,0)=0\), \(\varepsilon\) is a parameter presenting the couple degree. We propose a new method called the perturbation-incremental scheme and extend it to investigate delay-induced Hopf bifurcation and periodic solutions.
