The authors are concerned with acoustic scattering problems in dimension two. First, the second order elliptic problem is written in terms of an integral equation. By using a suitable expansion for the unknown surface densities combined with the method of stationary phase, the authors obtain accurate estimates for the multiple scattering iterations. Various numerical examples are presented to support the theoretical findings.
