    Let \(\mathbb{N}\) denote the set of all positive integers, \(\mathbb{P}\) the set of all prime numbers and \(P_G = \{p \in \mathbb{P} : \mathbb {Z}_{(p)} \in \) Bockstein basis \( \sigma(G)\}\), where \(G\) is an abelian group. The author proves the following generalization of the Edwards-Walsh Resolution Theorem. Let \(G\) be an abelian group with \(P_G = \mathbb{P}\), \(n \in \mathbb{N}\) and \(K\) be a connected \(CW\)-complex with \(\pi_n(K) \cong G\), \(\pi_k (K) \cong 0\) for \(0 \leq k < n.\) Then for every compact metrizable space \(X\) with \(X \tau K\) (i.e. \(K\) is an absolute extensor for \(X\)) there exists a compact metrizable space \(Z\) and a surjective map \(\pi: Z \to X\) such that (a) \(\pi\) is cell-like, (b) \(\dim Z \leq n\), and (c) \(Z \tau K\). Note that the case \(P_G \neq \mathbb{P}\) was considered by \textit{L. R. Rubin} and \textit{P. J. Shapiro} [Trans. Am. Math. Soc. 358, No. 6, 2507--2536 (2006; Zbl 1091.55005)]. There are several predecessors of the results in the literature which are recorded by the author.
