Let \(G\) be a compact abelian group (assumed to be metrizable in the sequel). A subset \(\Lambda\) of the dual group \(\widehat G\) is called a Rosenthal set if every measurable essentially bounded function \(f : G \to {\mathbb C}\) with spectrum in \(\Lambda\) is a.e. equal to a continuous function: in short \(L^\infty_\Lambda (G) = {\mathcal C}_\Lambda (G)\). It is equivalent to say that \({\mathcal C}_\Lambda (G)\), or \(L^\infty_\Lambda (G)\), has the Radon-Nikodým property: [\textit{F. Lust-Piquard}, Propriétés géométriques des sous-espaces invariants par translation de \(L^1(G)\) et \(C(G)\), Sémin. Géom. des Espaces de Banach, Éc. Polytech., Cent. Math., 1977--1978, Exposé No.~26, 9 p. (1978; Zbl 0386.46020)]. When \(G\) is metrizable this happens if and only if \(L^\infty_\Lambda (G)\) is separable. For further informations on Rosenthal sets, we refer to \textit{D. Li, H. Queffélec} and \textit{L. Rodríguez-Piazza} [J. Anal. Math. 86, 105--138 (2002; Zbl 1018.43004)] and references therein. In the paper under review, the author studies vectorial aspects of this notion. Such a study was previously investigated, for example, by \textit{F. Watbled} [Arch. Math. 66, No.~6, 479--489 (1996; Zbl 0854.43007); C. R. Acad. Sci., Paris, Sér.~I 318, No.~4, 333--336 (1994; Zbl 0819.43004)]. The first result of the paper under review is that the equality \(L^\infty_\Lambda (G, Y^\ast) = {\mathcal C}_\Lambda (G, Y^\ast)\) holds when \(\Lambda\) is a Rosenthal set, \(Y\) is a Banach space whose dual \(Y^\ast\) has the Radon-Nikodým property and \({\mathcal C}_\Lambda (G, Y^\ast)\) is weakly sequentially complete (w.s.c.). Moreover, if \(\Lambda\) is a Rosenthal set, \(Y^\ast\) is separable and \({\mathcal C}_\Lambda (G)\) and \(Y^\ast\) are w.s.c., then \(L^\infty_\Lambda (G, Y^\ast) = {\mathcal C}_\Lambda (G, Y^\ast)\) if and only if \({\mathcal C}_\Lambda (G, Y^\ast)\) is w.s.c.. That allows the author to get the result that the product of two Rosenthal sets \(\Lambda \subseteq \widehat G\) and \(\Lambda' \subseteq \widehat {G'}\) is again a Rosenthal set in the product when \({\mathcal C}_{\Lambda \times \Lambda'} (G \times G')\) is w.s.c. In a second part, the author studies the measurability of the translates of bounded linear forms on \(L^\infty (G)\). He shows in particular that for \(\xi \in [L^\infty (G)]^\ast\), the strong measurability of \(t \in G \mapsto \xi_t \in [L^\infty (G)]^\ast\) (where \(\langle \xi_t, f \rangle = \langle \xi, f_t \rangle\) and \(f_t (x) = f (x - t)\)) implies its continuity. In the last part, the relative Radon-Nikodým property \(RN-\Lambda\), generalizing the analytic Radon-Nikodým property ARNP, is introduced and allows the author to get a simple proof of the Bukhvalov-Danilevich's Theorem saying that \(L^1/ H^1\) does not have the ARNP. Actually, though he gives another proof, the author acknowledges that this last result is contained in \textit{M. Robdera} and \textit{P. Saab} [Glasg. Math. J. 43, No.~2, 185--198 (2001; Zbl 0992.46031)].
