The aim of this work is to develop a consistent theory of double objects in the category of affine bundles, which generalize canonical objects known from the affine valued geometry. The basic example is the affine phase bundle used in the relativistic mechanics of a charged particle. This approach to double affine structures corresponds to the novel approach to double vector bundles of \textit{K. Konieczna} and \textit{P. Urbanski} [Arch. Math., Brno 35, No.~1, 59--95 (1999; Zbl 1054.53055)].
