The aim of this paper is to contribute to the understanding of the global-in-time dispersive properties of solutions to wave equations on Schwarzschild black hole background. The authors discuss two robust ways to measure dispersion, namely the local energy estimates and Strichartz estimates. The dispersive properties for the inhomogeneous wave equation \(\square u =f\) with some initial data \(u(0)=u_0\), \(u_t(0)=u_1\) in the Schwarzschild space-time. The main result is a local energy estimate for the inhomogeneous wave equation \(\square_g\varphi =f\) on the Schwarzschild manifold, with some function \(\varphi \). This estimate has the form \[ E[\varphi ](\Sigma_{R}^{+})+\sup_{\tilde{v}\geq 0} E[\varphi ](\tilde{v})+\|\varphi \|_{LE_0}^2 \lesssim E[\varphi ](\Sigma_R^{-})+\|f\|_{LE_0^{\ast }}^2 \;, \] where \(E[\varphi ](\Sigma_R^-)\) and \(E[\varphi ](\Sigma_R^+)\) are the initial energy on the surface \(\Sigma_R^-\) and the final energy on the surface \(\Sigma_R^+\), respectively. A considerable part of the paper is devoted to a precise analysis of solutions near the trapping region, namely the photon sphere.
