The axisymmetric flow is considered, described by a system of conservation laws. One real and two complex eigenvalues are obtained in terms of the flow velocity, denisty and sound speed. The problem is reformulated in a quasilinear second order equation for the stream function. To avoid the degeneration near sonic velocity and near symmetry axis, the equation coefficients are truncated and an uniform elliptic problem with no singularity is obtained. A truncation procedure is also used to solve the problem in a bounded nozzle. Some uniform estimates of the solution of the truncated equations are used to get the convergence to the solution of the original problem. The existence of a critical mass flux is proved, according with Bears criterion (1958).
