The author first shows that A. Arhangel'skii's property (\(\alpha_{2}\)) and the Ramsey property introduced by \textit{T. Nogura} and \textit{D. Shakhmatov} [C. R. Acad. Sci., Paris, Sér. I 320, No.~11, 1349--1354 (1995; Zbl 0829.22008)] are equivalent for the space \(C_{p}(X)\) of real-valued continuous functions with the topology of pointwise convergence, and then gives a counterexample to show that the Ramsey property and Nyikos' property (\(\alpha_{3/2}\)) are not equivalent for \(C_{p}(X)\). These results answer questions posed by D. Shakhmatov. Moreover, the author discusses the considered properties (\(\alpha_{i}\)) for \(C_{p}(X)\), and shows that wQN and S\(_{1}(\Gamma, \Gamma)\) are equivalent for perfectly normal pseudocompact spaces, which gives a partial answer to M. Scheepers' conjecture.
