Sequential properties of function spaces with the compact-open topology (Q624401): Difference between revisions

In this self-contained paper some properties of spaces of continuous functions with the compact-open topology are investigated. First, some sufficient conditions are given in order that a space of continuous functions contains a copy of the Arens space \(S_{2}\). Moreover, the authors establish some conditions under which some suitable function spaces are sequential and give a class of non-compact spaces of continuous functions. Furthermore, a class of non-sequential spaces of continuous functions is derived. Finally, a characterization of sequential and non-metrizable function spaces is given.
