Let \(k\) be an algebraically closed field of characteristic zero. In this paper the authors pursue the investigation, begun in their previous paper [in Ring and module theory. Selected papers of the international conference, Ankara, Turkey 2008. Basel: Birkhäuser. Trends in Mathematics, 91-114 (2010; Zbl 1211.16022)], on structure constants of commutative character algebras of certain classes of finite-dimensional Hopf algebras over \(k\). These classes include semisimple and factorizable ribbon Hopf algebras. Extending the definitions given in the semisimple case in the above mentioned paper, they define here analogues of class sums and conjugacy classes for factorizable ribbon Hopf algebras. Several properties of these invariants are established. The fusion rules on the character algebra are computed with respect to an appropriate division into two disjoint classes of the family of irreducible modules according to the vanishing of their quantum dimension.
