Let \(T\) and \(Q\) be automorphisms of an algebra \(A\). The spaces \(N_T\subseteq A\), of \(T\)-normalizing elements, and \(O_Q\subseteq A^*\), of \(Q\)-cocommutative elements, consist, respectively, of all elements \(a\in A\) such that \(ab=T(b)a\), for all \(b\in A\), and of all elements \(p\in H^*\) such that \(\langle p,ab\rangle=\langle p,T(b)a\rangle\), for all \(a,b\in A\). In this paper, the authors put several examples in the literature, relating \(T\)-normalizing and \(Q\)-cocommutative elements in Hopf algebras, in a general framework. They show that \(N_T\rightharpoonup O_Q=O_{QT^{-1}}\) with equality if \(T\) is an inner automorphism or \(Q\) is a Nakayama automorphism. The set of Nakayama automorphisms is described as the coset \(\Phi\text{Inn\,}H\) in \(\Aut(H)\), where \(\Phi=S^2\circ\widehat\alpha\), and \(\widehat\alpha\) is the right regular action of the modular element \(\alpha\in H^*\). Applications to (co)quasitriangular Hopf algebras are given, in particular in the factorizable case.
