The authors discuss system simplification and reduction techniques so that flexible multibody systems may be simulated efficiently but still with reasonable accuracy. The techniques considered are projection on Krylov subspaces, singular value decomposition, combinations of these, as well as traditional model approaches. The authors cite the use of MOREMBS -- a useful model order reduction code. The paper is very technical, but carefully written. It should be of interest and use to analysts working with large flexible systems.
