The authors study Hamiltonian systems with Hamiltonian functions of the type \(H(x,y) = F(x) + G(y)\), where \(F(x)\) and \(G(y)\) are arbitrary polynomials. They present an algorithm to obtain the phase portrait, including the behaviour at infinity.
