This paper is a supplement of two works of the author together with \textit{B. Fritzsche} and \textit{B. Kirstein} [Math. Nachr. 283, No. 12, 1706--1735 (2010; Zbl 1211.30049); J. Comput. Appl. Math. 235, No. 4, 1008--1041 (2010; Zbl 1203.47006)]. The author makes an in-depth analysis of Weyl matrix balls which are associated to a finite moment problem for rational matrix functions in the nondegenerate case, in connection with some investigations on a class of extremal solutions of such a moment problem, presented in the works mentioned above.
