For functions \(f\in L^1(\mathbb{R})\cap C(\mathbb{R})\) with Fourier transforms \(\widehat f\in L^1(\mathbb{R})\), necessary and sufficient conditions are given for \(f\) to belong to the generalized Lipschitz classes \(H^{\omega,m}\) and \(h^{\omega,m}\) in terms of \(\widehat f\). The theorems proved in the present paper are the nonperiodic counterparts of those proved in [Z. Anal. Anwend. 23, No. 4, 745--764 (2004; Zbl 1065.26005)] by \textit{S. Tikhonov}, [J. Math. Anal. Appl. 324, No. 2, 1168--1177 (2006; Zbl 1103.42003)] by the reviewer, [Anal. Math. 34, No. 4, 261--276 (2008; Zbl 1199.42028)] by the reviewer, and [Real Anal. Exch. 34, No. 1, 219--226 (2009; Zbl 1180.42003)] by the present author.
