The authors investigate the stability and Hopf bifurcation of the positive equilibrium of the following pest pathogen model of the form: \(S'(t)=\delta S(t)-\alpha_1P(t)S(t)\), \(t>0\), \(I_t(t,a)+I_a(t,a)=-d_1(a)I(t,a)\), \(t, a>0\), \(P'(t)=\gamma-d_pP(t)+\int_0^{+\infty}\beta(a)I(t,a)da-\alpha_2P(t)S(t)\), \(t,a>0\) with boundary and initial conditions \(I(t,0)=\alpha_1P(t)S(t)\), \(t>0\), \(S(0)=S_0\geq 0\), \(P(0)=P_0\geq 0\), \(I(0,a)=I_0(a)\). The results are obtained by using the center manifold theory and the Hopf bifurcation theory, which refers to non-densely defined Cauchy problems. In the last section it is shown that as the threshold point increases, the equilibrium becomes unstable. An example illustrates the results.
