Let \(G\) be a cocompact hyperbolic Coxeter group (hyperbolic in the sense that it acts on the hyperbolic space \(\mathbb H^n\)). Let \(S\) be its generating set and \(\ell_S\) be the associated length function. The goal of this paper is to study the growth series \[ f_S(x)=\sum_{w\in G} x^{\ell_S(w)}. \] By a result of \textit{R. Steinberg}, [``Endomorphisms of linear algebraic groups'', Mem. Am. Math. Soc. 80 (1968; Zbl 0164.02902)], this function is a rational function. He also provided a way of calculating \(f_S\) via the growth functions of a spherical subset \(T\subset S\). Nevertheless, this formula is expressed by a sum of rational functions and therefore says nothing about the poles of \(f_S\). The paper under review gives a new recursion formula for \(f_S\) which allows to calculate the poles of \(f_S\) more easily, which they do in the case of right-angled Coxeter groups. These calculation led the authors to formulate a conjecture on the position of the poles of \(f_S\).
