The authors present a new (weighted) energy associated to a measure on a compact subset of \(\mathbb C^n\) or a compact Kähler manifold of dimension \(n\). Various relations between these energies, the Monge-Ampère equation and the transfinite diameter are given. Furthermore, a new logarithmic energy is given generalizing the classical case.
