The authors systematically study structures and properties of the standard quantum algebras of homogeneous spaces of compact semisimple Lie groups, extending and unifying scattered results known for some special cases in the literature as pointed out in this paper. More precisely, the authors start with a classification of closed Poisson-Lie subgroups \(K\) of simply connected compact semisimple standard Poisson-Lie groups \(G\), and then present a quantum \(C^{*}\)-algebra \(C\left( G_{q} /K_{q}\right) \) of the Poisson homogeneous space \(G/K\) with its irreducible representations classified and shown in a one-to-one correspondence with the symplectic leaves of \(G/K\). Furthermore a composition series for \(C\left( G_{q}/K_{q}\right) \) is found and the Jacobson topology on the spectrum of \(C\left( G_{q}/K_{q}\right) \) is determined and related to a topology on the symplectic leaf space involving the Bruhat ordering on the Weyl group. The family \(C\left( G_{q}/K_{q}\right) \) is canonically made into a continuous field of \(C^{*}\)-algebras and is shown to provide a strict deformation quantization of the classical algebra \(\mathbb{C}\left[ G/K\right] \). Finally, \(C\left( G_{q}/K_{q}\right) \) is proved to be KK-equivalent to \(C\left( G/K\right) \).
