Let \(L\) be a line bundle on a smooth projective variety \(X\), generated by its sections, let \(M_L\) be the kernel of the evaluation map \[ 0 \to M_L \to H^0(L)\otimes {\mathcal O}_X \to L \to 0 \] and \(E_L\) its dual \(M_L^\vee\). If \(\phi _L: X\to {\mathbb P}^r\) is the morphism defined by \(L\), then \(E_L=\phi _L^\star T_{{\mathbb P}^r}\otimes L^\vee\), so that the \(\mu\)--stability (with respect to \(L\)) of \(E_L\) is equivalent to the \(\mu\)-- stability of \(\phi _L^\star T_{{\mathbb P}^r}\). The main results of this paper establish the \(\mu\)--stability of \(E_L\) in the following cases: 1. \(X\) a smooth projective regular surface over \(\mathbb C\) with \(p_g=0\) and \(L={\mathcal O}_X(K_X+C)\) where \(C\) is a smooth irreducible curve on \(X\) of genus \(g\geq 2\) such that the line bundles \(L={\mathcal O}_X(K_X+C)\) and \({\mathcal O}_X(C)\) are generated by the global sections. 2. \(X\) is a smooth projective \(K3\) surface over \(\mathbb C\) and \(L\) is an ample line bundle generated by its global sections. 3. \(X\) is a smooth abelian surface over \(\mathbb C\), \(L\) is a line bundle generated by global sections satisfying \(L^2 \geq 14\).
