The authors investigate the existence of multiple solutions to some nonlinear systems with gyroscopic terms via variational methods. Some new results are obtained and some results from the literature are improved. The proofs are mainly based on a result of \textit{Y. Ding} [Nonlinear Anal., Theory Methods Appl. 25, No. 11, 1095--1113 (1995; Zbl 0840.34044)] and a standard result of Rabinowitz on critical points of even functionals.
