This paper deals with an approach to improve the thermal efficiency of walls. The authors present three different types of light concrete hollow bricks termed and designed according to the manufacturer products, in order to study their thermal behaviour in walls made up of these types of bricks. With the help of finite element analysis, an optimization procedure in order to determine the best candidate brick with large recesses from the thermal point of view is outlined.
