The author reviews known factorization results for quaternion matrices. He derives the Jordan canonical form, polar decomposition, singular value decomposition, and QR factorization. He proves that there is a Schur factorization for commuting matrices, and from this he derives the spectral theorem. He discusses related results regarding complex matrices which are self-dual or symmetric, but perhaps not Hermitian.
