The Riemann mapping theorem, proved by B. Riemann (1851), states that every simply connected subset of the plane is conformally equivalent to the unit disk. Now a conformal map of a simply connected Jordan domain onto the unit disk can be extended to a homeomorphism of the closure of the domain and this extension is known as boundary extension or Carathéodory extension. In the paper under review the author demonstrates the computability of finding the Carathéodory extension of a conformal map of a Jordan domain onto the unit disk using the property of effective local connectivity.
