The author considers the consistency properties of the solutions to the cost sharing problem. The article begins with an overview of the literature and previous results followed by a summary of the cost sharing model. The author then defines the idea of consistency of the cost sharing solutions and its relation to reduction maps. Several properties of consistency are presented and proven. The fourth section presents the two main characterization properties, namely additivity and constant returns, and their relationship with regards to consistency is explored. The article concludes with an annex containing the proofs of several very interesting lemmas.
