    The existence of unique global classical solution of the Cauchy problem \[ u_{t} =\Delta u^{m},\quad u>0,\, u\left(x,0\right)=u_{0} \left(x\right)>0\, ,\, x\in {\mathbb R}^{n} \] to the fast diffusion equation case is proved. It is assumed that \(n\geq 3\), \(0<m\leq (n-2)/n\), \(p>\max (1, (1-m)n/2)\), and \(0\leq u_{0} \in L^{p} _{\text{loc}} \left({\mathbb R}^{n} \right)\) satisfy \(\liminf_{r\to \infty} r^{-n+\frac{2}{1-m} } \int _{\left|x\right| \leq r}u_{0} \, dx=\infty \). If \(u_{0} \left(x\right)\approx A\left|x\right|^{-q} \) as \( \left|x\right|\to \infty \) for some constants \(A>0\), \(q<n/p\), then there exist constants \(\alpha,\beta \), such that the function \(v\left(x,t\right)=t^{\alpha } u\left(t^{\beta } x, t\right)\) converges uniformly on every compact subset of \({\mathbb R}^{n} \) to the self-similar solution \(\psi \left(x,1\right)\) of the equation with \( \psi \left(x,0\right)=A\left|x\right|^{-q} \) as \(t\to \infty\). In the case \(m=\left(n-2\right)/\left(n+2\right)\), \(n\geq 3\), the function \(u\left(x,t\right)\) is a global solution of the above fast diffusion equation if \(g_{ij} =u^{\frac{4}{n+2} } \delta _{ij} \) is a metric on \({\mathbb R}^{n} \) that evolves by the Yamabe flow \(\partial g_{ij} /\partial t=-Rg_{ij} \) with \(u\left(x,0\right)=u_{0} \left(x\right)\) in \({\mathbb R}^{n} \) where \(R\) is the scalar curvature.
