Generic initial ideals of singular curves in graded lexicographic order (Q2376715): Difference between revisions

Let \(C\) be a singular irreducible projective curve of degree \(d \geq 5\) in \(\mathbb P^r\) where \(r \geq 3\). Suppose that \(\mathrm{dim}(\mathrm{Tan}_p(C)) = 2\) for every singular point \(p \in C\). Moreover, let \(\tau\) be the graded lexicographic term ordering and \(\mathrm{Gin}_\tau(I_C)\) be the generic initial ideal of the ideal \(I_C\) of \(C\) with respect to \(\tau\). In this situation, the authors prove explicit formulas for the regularity of \(\mathrm{Gin}_{\tau}(I_C)\) by carefully regarding the partial elimination ideals and the corresponding Hilbert functions. Moreover, their proofs also yield the minimal monomial generator of \(\mathrm{Gin}_\tau(I_C)\) from which the regularity is obtained. This generalies earlier results by \textit{J. Ahn} [J. Symb. Comput. 43, No. 6--7, 422--441 (2008; Zbl 1154.13010)] and \textit{A. Conca} and \textit{J. Sidman} [J. Symb. Comput. 40, No. 3, 1023--1038 (2005; Zbl 1120.14050)], where only smooth curves have been considered.
