This article is an introduction to quantum continuous measurement, non-linear filtering and feedback control. It contains a comprehensive synthesis of much of the author's earlier work. The mathematical setting is one of great generality: `the most general algebraic setting'. It proceeds from quantum probability and quantum stochastics to stochastic master and filtering equations, dynamical programming and quantum Bellman equations. It concludes with optimal feedback control for the quantum version of a general linear-quadratic-Gaussian system. There is an extensive list of references to the author's work, and the article under review serves in part to document Belavkin's pioneering contributions to this subject.
