The authors consider a neutral differential system with distributed delay. Based on a spectral analysis of the operator corresponding to the system and some uniform estimation of norms of the exponentials of matrices, they obtain a precise norm estimation of the semigroup generated by the operator. The stability properties of the corresponding solutions and the existence of the fastest growing solution are also discussed.
