A subelliptic Bourgain-Brezis inequality (Q2449822): Difference between revisions

Summary: We prove an approximation lemma on (stratified) homogeneous groups that allows one to approximate a function in the non-isotropic Sobolev space \(\dot{NL}^{1,Q}\) by \(L^\infty\) functions, generalizing a result of \textit{J. Bourgain} and \textit{H. Brezis} [J. Eur. Math. Soc. (JEMS) 9, No. 2, 277--315 (2007; Zbl 1176.35061)]. We then use this to obtain a Gagliardo-Nirenberg inequality for \(\bar\partial_b\) on the Heisenberg group \(\mathbb{H}^n\).
