Summary: We study existence and multiplicity of positive solutions for the boundary value problems \[ x^{(4)}= f(t,x,x',-x'',-x''', y,y',-y'', -y'''), \] \[ y^{(4)}= g(t,x,x', -x'', -x''', y,y', -y'', -y'''), \] \[ x(0)= x'(1)= x''(0)= x'''(1)= 0, \] and \[ y(0)= y'(1)= y''(0)= y'''(1)= 0, \] where \(f,g\in C([0,1]\times \mathbb{R}^8_+, \mathbb{R}_+)\) \((\mathbb{R}_+:= [0,\infty))\). We use fixed point index theory to establish our main results based on a priori estimates achieved by usilitzing some integral identities and inequalities and \(\mathbb{R}^2_+\)-monotone matrices.
