A selector for a family of subsets of a metric space is a function on the space, which selects a point from every family member. A constructive iterative technique to define a new selector, called the kernel center map, is described. It identifies image points from the kernel of the body. In the particular case of convex bodies, this selector is a relative of the Chebyshev center, i.e. the center of the unique minimal radius ball in \(\mathbb{R}^{n}\), which includes the given body. The kernel center map selects the incenter of one of the largest balls contained in the convex body. Additivity and continuity of this selector are studied, proving negative results. A comparison with other selectors proves that this function is new in the literature.
