The paper refers to the Cauchy problem for a system of \(N\) nonlinear wave equations in three space dimensions, initial conditions depending on a small parameter \(\epsilon\). The global existence of solution as well as the asymptotic behavior are studied. It is known that a sufficient condition for small data global existence is that the so called null condition is satisfied. The weak null condition is introduced. Under a special assumption (H) on the nonlinearity of system, which implies the weak null condition, the existence of a unique global solution is proved. For \(N=2\), in case the assumption (H) is satisfied and the null condition is violated, a result on the asymptotic behavior of solution is proved.
